Annie Loughlin wedding celebrant

“I would love to help you create a relaxed, natural, bespoke wedding ceremony, in Scotland’s wild and beautiful west coast of Argyll”!

Your wedding day is one of the most significant days of your life, with your wedding ceremony being one of the most important elements and who conducts it is a big decision. You can choose a Registrar, a Minister or a Registered Celebrant.
Here on Craignish peninsula, we have our very own registered Humanist Celebrant Annie Loughlin, and here she is now to introduce herself!

Hi! I have been a wedding celebrant with the Humanist Society Scotland since 2008, registered to conduct legal weddings in Scotland.
In that time I have conducted over 500 wedding ceremonies throughout Scotland, but mainly in beautiful wild Argyll on the West coast of Scotland.
These couples were from a variety of countries, as well as UK, many of whom chose small weddings and elopements, so I am experienced in knowing how to make your wedding day special. I can also advise you on the many Scottish customs such as handfasting, quaich, oathing stone, and can guide you through the necessary legal paperwork.

I aim to create a warm and open relationship with all couples choosing to marry in Argyll, helping you create the wedding ceremony of your dreams, whether you live in the UK or abroad.
I have absolutely LOVED each and every one of the many elopement wedding ceremonies I have conducted!
No two ceremonies are ever the same, as each is personal and unique and I find when couples choose an elopement wedding, we can co-create something really special, where your love can really shine through, in a natural, relaxed, intimate, bespoke wedding ceremony, in a stunning setting in nature, amongst the wild splendour of Scotland’s west coast of Argyll.
I have lived in Argyll for over 30 years, so know many of the secret woodlands, hills, beaches and gorgeous places we are lucky to have, where you can have your wedding ceremony. In fact we are totally spoiled for choice for beautiful locations here! (What a fabulous job I have!)

what couples say

“Planning a small wedding meant we had the freedom to do whatever we liked and whatever made the day special to us, without the worry of trying to please so many others. We got married on top of a hill with our parents and our two children watching. Annie conducted the ceremony, which was personal, touching, funny and simply perfect, our day would not have been the same without her.”
Rachel & Mark

“We just wanted to say thanks again Annie for our beautiful wedding ceremony. It was really, really special and we couldn’t of asked for a better Celebrant. We loved how personal it was and the hand fasting was brilliant-we have it on our mantelpiece now! We will never forget our day – thank you for being a part of it!”

“We are still reeling in joy from our wedding day at Kilmartin Castle, with the wonderful Annie as our Humanist celebrant, whose warmth and compassion shone through while creating the ceremony, and with her help, customising our ceremony was easy. Our wedding day was relaxed, full of fun, joy and laughter and fit us like a glove and many family and friends watching on Zoom said that it was one of the best ceremonies they’ve ever seen”.

“Love is to love someone for who they are, who they were, and who they will be”.
